“Ok,” said Jack, suddenly, standing up and facing away from Nate, “give it
to me. Hmmm. He stared out into the darkness, listening to
the wind stir the sand, occasionally rubbing his butt where he’d been
recently bitten. Well, there’s some
truth to that. “Purple?!” He didn’t see Nate there. They go back and forth between deciding to continuing or to skip to the end (this vacillating may be unconscious at the time, and happen in a matter of moments). But still, standing still while a fifteen foot
snake sunk it’s fangs into you. Think you can do that for me, Jack?”
Jack nodded. I’m tired. This isn’t
good. He pushes on, trying to get to that small town before dark.
