Her hand again rested on my arm, as she looked at me. After relieving myself, I stood at the sink washing my hands. After a minute, I just shook my head and walked back into the living room, grabbing a box. “I also thought that since I’ll be down in the basement painting and can’t babysit you that you’d be able to shovel our driveway.”
I looked up at her, the smile fading from my face.
