I knew the fire would not burn to long with all the moisture but we needed to get further away from the colony. I knew that meant I was close to a river. xxx I had two men on watch at the entrance and sat behind them nodding. I pointed out where we were and where we were going. I pulled the rifle off and carried it as I entered the tree and climbed to the house far above. I was already bringing my rifle up as the group of combat soldiers appeared. I knew that was the only way I would get there in time.
