I was surprised by the question. His kisses were sweet. “Wow, I guess between the drink, you and the lack of sleep, I was exhausted.”
“Me too. I was trying so hard to be quiet. I could continue to put up with this, out of fear of being alone. Sure enough, he pulled her chair out, being the perfect gentleman. I looked down at my feet feeling self-conscious. I smiled back. I laughed when I realized that not only did he not answer my text about the hotel, but that his phone conveniently died mid-conversation.
