When the heads of two lovers are bent towards each other, and when so bent, kissing takes place, it is called a ‘bent kiss’. But Vatsyayana thinks that though kissing is practised by these people in the above places on account of the intensity of their love, and the customs of their country, it is not fit to be practised by all. xxx18 The best kiss for an intimate partner, according to kamasutra, is one that is based on the awareness of the avastha (the emotional state of one’s partner) when the two are not in a sexual union. It is so true that a kiss is not just about the lips or the face. All these however are only peculiar to men and women of intense passion.
